Team USA Falls to Germany for First Time Since 2015, Faces Paris Olympics Next
Team USA suffered its first exhibition loss in the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, falling to Germany 111-91 in Cologne on Sunday. Andreas Obst led the German charge with a 24-point performance, while Franz Wagner added 22 points for the hosts.
Germany outshot Team USA from the field (53.3% to 43.9%) and from beyond the arc (40.0% to 27.3%). The Americans also committed 17 turnovers to Germany's 12.
The loss is a wake-up call for Team USA, who have won all four of their previous exhibitions on the road to Paris. It's also the first time Team USA has lost to Germany since 2015.
Team USA's next game will come in the 2024 Paris Olympics in the group stage.
