Carter Center Calls on Venezuelan Election Commission
17-Person Mission Deployed
Barinas, Maracaibo, and Valencia Represented
ATLANTA, GA - The Carter Center has called upon Venezuela's National Election Commission to take immediate steps to ensure the credibility and transparency of the upcoming elections.
The Center has deployed a 17-person mission to Venezuela, with 11 members in Caracas and six distributed across Barinas, Maracaibo, and Valencia. This mission will assess the electoral process and make recommendations to improve its credibility.
"The Carter Center has been working in Venezuela for 25 years, and we are committed to supporting the Venezuelan people in their efforts to strengthen their democracy," said Jason Carter, Chairman of The Carter Center.
