Edwards, Towns Lead Wolves to 106-99 Rout of Nuggets
Timberwolves Take 2-0 Series Lead

Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a dominant 106-99 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, giving the Wolves a commanding 2-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series.
Edwards scored 29 points and Towns added 26 for the Wolves, who built an early lead and never looked back. The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic, who had 23 points and 12 rebounds, but he was unable to carry his team to victory.
The Nuggets got off to a slow start, shooting just 28% from the field in the first half. They were able to close the gap to single digits in the third quarter, but the Wolves responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.
The Wolves' defense was particularly impressive, holding the Nuggets to just 37% shooting from the field. They also forced 15 turnovers, which led to a number of easy baskets.
With the win, the Wolves take a commanding lead in the series. They will look to close it out in Game 3 on Saturday in Denver.
